MOSIAC

ABZ, Incorporated consists of nuclear engineers who provide consulting and engineering services to electric utility companies. ABZ solves complex technical problems through skill and innovation. ABZ-MOSAIC is an innovative computer program that solves complex problems to improve plant performance and compliance with U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations. ABZ-MOSAIC applies proven artificial intelligence (AI) techniques for improving power plant operations.

ABZ's field-tested routines and software result from development of both full-scale expert system applications and working prototypes for real operational and engineering problems. The ABZ engineers who developed ABZ-MOSAIC have experience in day-to-day operations of power plants and related systems. It is this background, coupled with a knowledge of artificial intelligence techniques, that makes the ABZ-MOSAIC approach unique.

ABZ-MOSAIC has been developed to allow the system to be readily customized to fit your specific needs rather than try to make your application fit a pre-defined framework. Each module of ABZ-MOSAIC is designed to perform a specific task, such as scheduling routine tests. The modules can be implemented separately and later integrated if needed. ABZ-MOSAIC, therefore, provides an immediately usable product without limiting the future options or applications. ABZ-MOSAIC modules can be added to:

  • Assist in complying with the limiting conditions for operation (LCOs).
  • Perform safety evaluations (10CFR50.59).
  • Assist in performing root cause analyses.
  • Provide a post-maintenance testing program.
  • Provide a reliability-centered maintenance program. Improve plant heat rate.
  • Perform quality evaluations.
